"May I ask you a question?" Lucius looked at Victor and hoped it was okay to meet his eyes and ask him things. He didn't want to get his ass kicked. He could hear Edward and Oswald in his head, telling him to run away but curiosity always got the best of him. "What do you gain from dating someone for a week? Are you lonely or just bored?"
Lucius had always wondered - he didn't really know Victor outside of his whole dating thing so he wasn't sure what sort of person he was. "Perhaps you are a player, I'm not sure. You don't have to answer."
"If I was lonely, I doubt dating someone new every week would change that." Evidently didn't. Victor looked at Lucius, he didn't mind meeting his eyes. He kind of liked that Lucius asked him questions, made him think. Usually people didn't make him think much. Most people were boring.
"I don't really know why. It's something to focus on." Better than the nothingness that life generally was. "Think it'd be a lot less effort to just be a player."
"True." There was a lull of silence and a terrible idea came to Lucius. A bad, awful and stupid idea but he didn't really think about it, it just came out of his mouth without warning. "Would you date me for a week?"
Oh dear. This might end badly. He never said he would date boys and did he just out himself when he didn't even know if he was gay or not? Also this was Victor Zsasz! It was just that it seemed like a situation that would benefit him greatly for an experiment he had wanted to run for a while. And apparently he wanted it more than he had expected.
"Huh." Victor hadn't expected that. Maybe he should have, given the line of questioning. But, to be fair, usually it was more girls just about tackling him while yelling the question, so this was subdued by comparison. Maybe preferable.
Definitely preferable, made his ears hurt a lot less. "What's your name?" If he was to date him, he really ought to know his name. "And how old are you?" He had to make sure this wasn't under his age limit. He didn't think so, just looking at the boy, but still.
"I'm Lucius Fox and I'm in the year below you. I'm sixteen. And I--I am sorry. I didn't mean to put you in a position you are not comfortable with. You are welcome to decline but perhaps don't tell people that I asked. It may be certain death for me." Given he already got bullied for everything else, throwing that in was not ideal. He just had to hope that Victor Zsasz had some empathy.
He swallowed hard and looked at Victor, trying to read his mind as best he could. It wasn't easy, he liked that about him. And feared it a little.
"Lucius Fox. Cool name." Victor liked that. "Handsome face too." He also liked that. And, since they were now dating, he felt it was only appropriate to tell him that. "Of course I'll date you."
Why not? He reached into his pocket to get his phone out. "Give me your number and then I can walk you to your locker." He knew how to do the boyfriend thing, he was a bit of an expert at it by now. "I can meet you there after school too, then I can drive you home. Unless you wanna do something else."
People had different dating preferences, he knew that well by now. Although a lot of the girls so far mostly wanted him to take them shopping. Whatever.
"I may have to go to the library after school, I'm not certain. I can tell you by lunch time, I suppose." Okay. He was dating Victor Zsasz. This was going to be fascinating. Lucius gave his number to Victor, waited for him to pass on his and then saved him into his phone so he wasn't some anonymous texter. "I can show you my locker."
He led Victor along, knowing he had to go there anyway before he went ahead to his English class, he didn't like to lug his backpack around all day.
"I've never dated before. This should be interesting." Lucius smiled at Victor and then looked away, walking alongside him. "Do you enjoy dating, Victor?"
Victor walked with Lucius, frowning at the question. "Dunno. It's something to do. Passes the time."
Better than nothing, that was about how he'd usually rate it. But that was pretty much how he rated everything right now. "You have a nice smile, Lucius." He felt he should tell him, because it was very much true and they were dating. "We can sit together for lunch."
This wasn't his first time dating someone who wasn't from his usual circle. So it was a boy, but really, not that much difference otherwise.
"As you wish." He wasn't sure if he should sit with Victor at lunch but if he was going to date him, perhaps he had to. And if he didn't like then he would just leave. He could always get up and leave. "I won't linger too long after getting to my locker, I'm quite late and I don't like it. I'm very unsettled. I'm prefer to be on time."
As they reached his locker, Lucius put in the code and opened it up, getting his books from his bag before setting it inside. "Do you have any rules? Are there things I shouldn't do? What shall I do for you?"
"Let me know when you're uncomfortable. I don't wanna do anything that does that." Seemed simple enough. "Nothing makes me uncomfortable, so you're good. I'll find you at lunch, don't worry about it."
Victor leaned against the locker next to Lucius, then reached out to lightly touch his arm. "Thanks for asking me out."
It was something new. He liked that. Leaning forward, he lightly kissed his cheek. "See you at lunch, Lucius."
"Thank you for agreeing. I look forward to the week and I hope I don't bore you." Lucius smiled and nodded, blushing slightly when Victor kissed him. Damn. That felt so good. He was so screwed, he was definitely as gay as he thought. Well, this was one hell of a way to come out.
